Position: (Part-Time) Golf Shop Attendant
Location: Dexter

Pay Rate

$16.17 per hour (up to 1,500 hours per year). Eligible part-time employees will receive up to a $5.75 per hour retention bonus for all hours worked from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Hudson Mills Metropark is a 7‑day per week operation. Staff are expected to be available to work as scheduled. The parks are weather dependent, which may result in cancelled or shortened work schedules as necessary.

General Statement of Duties

Work activities in this position primarily involve the operation of the starter building and maintenance of the golf course as needed.

Essential Duties
  • Provides patrons with excellent customer service.
  • Schedules tee time reservations, including online reservation processing.
  • Checks in golfers and accepts payment using a point‑of‑sale system.
  • Responsible for the sale of golf merchandise.
  • Ensures that the starter building and immediate area, including restrooms, are kept clean, organized, and stocked.
  • Unloads stock items and places them in the appropriate storage area.
  • Responsible for stocking golf shop merchandise and informing the Golf Course Manager of low inventories.
  • Maintains an adequate change fund and accurate daily revenue reports.
  • Maintains orderly flow of golfers off #1 and #10 tees.
  • Promotes the Metroparks and Metropark events.
  • Assists the Golf Course Manager with other related tasks.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Ability to distinguish letters and symbols.
  • Ability to communicate using telephone.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to remain professional and courteous with customers.
  • Ability to operate computer and use applicable software programs.
  • Ability to accurately perform cash transactions, including making change.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to work varied hours depending upon park demands.
  • Ability to get along with co‑workers, supervisors, and park visitors.
  • May be required to work assigned special events, weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • May be required to adjust schedule to meet organizational needs.
  • Ability to perform essential duties.
General Qualifications
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to load, unload and move materials from one location to another.
