INVENTORY MANAGER – CANNABIS RETAIL

DACUT Cannabis Retail is seeking an experienced Inventory Manager to oversee all inventory operations and ensure seamless product flow within one of Michigan’s leading cannabis dispensaries. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive leader who excels at inventory control, compliance management, and process improvement while playing a vital role in supporting store profitability and customer satisfaction.

Position Overview

As the Inventory Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of inventory management, including receiving, tracking, auditing, compliance reporting, and product organization. You will work closely with store leadership, purchasing teams, and vendors to maintain accurate inventory records, ensure product availability, and support operational efficiency. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working behind the scenes to create structure, solve problems, and optimize inventory processes in a highly regulated retail environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all daily inventory operations, ensuring accurate tracking and accountability of cannabis products.
  • Receive, verify, and process incoming shipments while ensuring compliance with company and state regulations.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through METRC, POS systems, and internal tracking processes.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts, inventory audits, and reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with purchasing teams to maintain optimal stock levels and product availability.
  • Ensure proper storage, organization, labeling, and handling of all inventory.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory variances, product discrepancies, and compliance concerns.
  • Manage product transfers, returns, quarantines, and waste procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain inventory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Generate inventory reports and analyze trends to support business decisions and operational planning.
  • Collaborate with management to forecast inventory needs and support promotional initiatives.
  • Train and support team members on inventory procedures, compliance standards, and best practices.
Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Inventory Management Expertise:
    Demonstrated experience managing inventory in a retail, warehouse, distribution, or cannabis environment.
  • Cannabis Compliance Knowledge:
    Strong understanding of METRC, cannabis regulations, inventory controls, and compliance requirements.
  • Systems & Technology Proficiency:
    Experience using inventory management software, POS systems, spreadsheets, and reporting tools.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving

    Skills:

    Ability to identify discrepancies, analyze inventory trends, and implement effective solutions.
  • Process Improvement Mindset:
    Experience developing efficient workflows and improving inventory accuracy and operational performance.
  • Attention to Detail:
    Exceptional organizational skills with a commitment to accuracy and accountability.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of inventory management, inventory control, or related operational experience.
  • Cannabis industry experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of METRC and cannabis compliance regulations preferred.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and data-entry skills.
  • Proficiency with inventory systems, POS platforms, and Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Ability to lift and move inventory as needed.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Must meet all state requirements for employment within the cannabis industry.
