Job Title
General Responsibilities
- Maintain adequate stock levels, organization and cleanliness of merchandise on sales floor and participate in the maintenance/cleanliness of the entire store.
- Operate cash register and credit card machine.
- Promote positive customer interactions and assist with resolving customer complaints.
- Walk sales floor regularly, talking and assisting customers with shopping needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure organization and cleanliness of stock on the sales floor and in backroom.
- Stock merchandise on the sales floor and assist with setting up and taking down special promotions, displays and events.
- Assist in making sure stock is properly rotated and that aged stock is taken off floor for disposal.
- Assist with quality control of incoming donations and distribute merchandise to designated departments.
- Price donated materials, as assigned.
- Ensure safety and cleanliness of work area, sales floor, and outside entrances: shovel, sweep, dust, empty garbage, break down boxes.
- Assist in supporting new hires and volunteers.
- Assist with sorting textile donations into designated areas.
- Efficient processing of donations and stocking the sales floor.
- Ensure standards for quality, customer service, and health and safety are met.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to; stand, sit, walk, use hands to handle and/or reach with hands and arms.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Additional Requirements
- Understand the importance of daily work attendance, and its impact on coworkers, customers, and the agency.
- Participate in personal and professional development activities, including staff meetings, conferences, training opportunities, as identified and approved by supervisor.
- Must have strong communication and organizational skills.
- Must be self-directed and able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license is preferred.
- Complete additional certification as required.
- Successfully complete Criminal History and Child Abuse/Neglect clearance procedures at time of hire and when requested.
- Must comply with Agency tobacco free and drug free policies.
