Seasonal Budtender​/Reception - Part Time

The Fire Station, LLC is a collection of marijuana establishments located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. TFS holds state and municipal operating licenses and aims to exceed compliance standards. Since beginning in 2019 with fewer than ten employees, the business has grown rapidly and is looking for new employees interested in a career in the cannabis industry. As a marijuana retail establishment, our operations involve welcoming customers 21+ years of age into our facility to view and purchase high‑quality marijuana products.

A team of employees works collaboratively to provide customers with top‑notch customer service and cannabis knowledge to enhance their experience.

Budtender/Reception – Part Time

Receptionists are the first point of contact for customers when they enter the facility. They greet customers, gather the required information, and grant them access onto the budroom. Bud tenders perform the core interaction with customers, serving as the salesperson of cannabis products. Bud tenders and receptionists are knowledgeable about a variety of cannabis products and can provide detailed descriptions and explanations to customers.

They help customers find products specific to their needs and perform sales transactions, while restocking products on the sales floor as necessary.

• Welcoming and greeting new customers in a thoughtful and polite manner.
• Answering phone calls and responding to emails.
• Staying updated on current available products for sale within the facility and general cannabis knowledge such as purchase limits to answer customer questions.
• Thoroughly checking IDs to ensure all customers are legally of age and permitting entrance onto the sales floor.
• Properly completing sales transactions and recommending products to customers.
• Utilizing the point of sale (POS) system to complete transactions.
• Monitoring product quantities, labeling, and restocking activities.
• Assisting with facility compliance by following rules and standards for inventory restocking and completing transactions.
• Ensuring that products sold to customers match the METRC and related tracking information for that product.
• Collecting and counting cash; identifying potential fraudulent cash bills.
• Keeping the budroom display shelves and workspace clean and presentable for customers, including general cleaning procedures such as mopping, sweeping, and vacuuming.
• Completing and signing required checklists for end‑of‑shift duties, including sanitation and facility upkeep.
• Occasionally training new TFS staff on policies, procedures, and job shadowing.

• Must have adequate cannabis product knowledge.
• Must have at least one year of experience in a retail or similar setting.
• Must have at least one year of experience using POS systems.
• High school education required; higher education preferred.

• State and municipal law—TFS operates in full compliance with all rules and regulations enforced by the State of Michigan’s Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) and Cannabis Regulatory Agency (CRA), and by municipal regulations.
• Prolonged periods of standing at a sales counter and working on a computer.
• May be required to perform job duties outside of the facility in inclement weather if providing curbside services.
