Deli Associate

Spartan Nash Associates, LLC is seeking a customer-focused Deli Associate to support our retail grocery operations. In this role, you'll prepare, slice, and package deli meats, cheeses, and prepared foods while delivering friendly, efficient service. You will set and restock deli cases, maintain product quality and freshness, and follow strict food safety and sanitation standards. The Deli Associate operates slicers and scales, prepares simple deli recipes, and keeps work areas clean and organized.

You'll work closely with store teammates in a people-first, values-driven culture focused on service, integrity, teamwork, and community impact.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers at the deli counter, handling orders and questions
• Slice, weigh, price, and package meats, cheeses, and prepared foods to specifications
• Prepare simple deli items such as salads, sandwiches, and party trays
• Set, stock, rotate, and face deli cases and grab-and-go displays
• Follow all food safety, temperature control, and sanitation procedures
• Operate slicers, scales, and wrapping equipment safely and accurately
• Monitor product quality, freshness dates, and merchandising standards
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow closing/opening routines
• Handle cash register or POS functions as needed for deli purchases
• Work collaboratively with store teammates to meet sales and service goals
