Person In Charge

Spartan Nash Associates, LLC is seeking a Person In Charge to lead daily operations in our retail grocery store. In this role, you coordinate front-end and floor activities, support associates, and ensure a clean, safe, and well stocked environment. You will oversee cash handling, opening/closing procedures, merchandising standards, and execution of promotions while delivering friendly, efficient customer service. You model company values, resolve issues, and communicate priorities so the team can provide fresh, affordable products and an exceptional shopping experience for every guest.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily store operations to ensure a safe, clean, and well organized shopping environment
• Oversee cash handling, POS transactions, and adherence to opening/closing procedures
• Monitor stock levels, merchandising, and signage to meet company standards
• Deliver and model outstanding customer service; resolve guest concerns promptly
• Support, coach, and direct associates during the shift to meet performance and service goals
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety policies
• Execute promotions and in store programs to drive sales and customer engagement
• Communicate priorities and operational updates between management and front line associates
• Assist with loss prevention efforts and adherence to company policies
• Contribute to a positive, people first culture aligned with Spartan
