MICHIGAN INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAYNestled on more than 1,400 acres in the Irish Hills of Southeastern Michigan, Michigan International Speedway is a track rich in racing history. It has been the love of NASCAR racing and the thrill of a great time that has made it a favorite of race fans and drivers alike for more than 50 years. Michigan International Speedway has more than 12 campgrounds and is the state of Michigan’s largest registered campground.
In addition to two great weekends of racing, the speedway is home to events throughout the year including the MIS Backyard Hockey Tournament, Faster Horses Festival and Nite Lites.
Michigan International Speedway is seeking a motivated and passionate Group Sales Account Executive to drive group ticket sales revenue and build strong relationships with businesses, organizations, and community partners. This role will focus on developing new business, growing existing relationships, and creating memorable race weekend experiences for group ticket customers.
As a member of the sales team, the Group Sales Account Executive will play a key role in achieving revenue goals through proactive prospecting, relationship management, presentations, and exceptional customer service. This position will also support the setup, execution, and delivery of group experiences on race days.
What You'll Do:
Generate new sales revenue through 60-80 outbound daily touchpoints including phone calls, emails, virtual and in-person meetings
Proactively seek new leads through referrals, networking, and prospecting businesses and organizations
Set appointments with key decision makers in the community to assess the opportunity to develop and grow opportunities
Responsible for the growth of existing relationships in order for the client to maximize spend and generate repeat business
Renew and provide enhanced opportunities and/or experiences to existing group sales customers
Assist with the creation, development and implementation of new concepts designed to generate new sales revenue streams
Meet and exceed weekly, monthly, and yearly sales goals
Maintain accurate and detailed records of all current clients and prospects within our CRM system
Provide superior customer service to clients and prospects both in-person and over the phone
Execute group sales set up, execution and delivery of client services on race day Travel:
Up to 20% throughout race season, including weekends.

What You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree (B.
A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum one (1) year of sales experience, preferably in a sports sales environment
Strong verbal, written, interpersonal and presentation skills
Comfortable making cold calls on the phone
Comfortable making face to face sales presentations
Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
Ability to function in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple projects simultaneously and adhere to deadlines
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint)
Previous CRM and ticketing platforms experience a plus
Must have a valid driver’s license
Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, reach, use hands to feel and handle, ability to lift 20 pounds and see including close vision
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, days, evenings, overnight, weekends, holidays, extended (long) workdays and extended numbers of days. (Race events)
