Insurance Sales Representative, Licensed Insurance Producer

Job Description

The Insurance Sales Representative is responsible for growing the agency by developing new business and identifying additional insurance needs within our existing customer base. This position requires someone who is comfortable talking with people, following up consistently, asking for the sale, and working toward measurable production goals.

The ideal candidate is self-driven, positive, dependable, coachable, and motivated by achieving results while providing an excellent customer experience.

• Generate new auto, home, renters, umbrella, life insurance, and AAA membership opportunities.
• Follow up with leads, prospects, former customers, event contacts, and existing customers.
• Conduct outbound calls, texts, and emails to develop sales opportunities.
• Quote insurance coverage and explain available options in a clear, professional manner.
• Identify cross-selling opportunities within the agency's existing book of business.
• Ask appropriate questions to uncover customer needs rather than simply providing a price.
• Present recommendations and confidently ask for the sale.
• Maintain consistent follow-up with prospects until a decision is reached.
• Document conversations, activities, and follow-up tasks accurately in agency systems.
• Meet established sales, activity, and production goals.
• Participate in agency marketing initiatives, community events, and lead-generation campaigns.
• Maintain knowledge of carrier products, underwriting guidelines, discounts, and eligibility requirements.
• Work collaboratively with the service team to provide a smooth transition after a policy is written.

• Michigan Property & Casualty insurance license required or ability to obtain within an established timeframe.
• Life & Health license preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Comfortable making outbound calls and initiating conversations with prospective customers.
• Organized and able to manage a sales pipeline and multiple follow-ups.
• Able to work independently and take ownership of results.
• Comfortable working with production goals and performance expectations.
• Previous insurance or sales experience is preferred, but we can train the right candidate.
