Armed Security Officers protect the site’s building, grounds, assets, employees and visitors against criminal activity. They work as a team to control access at entry/exit points of a local headquarters, serve as a point of contact to all visitors and patrons, and serve a truly critical purpose.

- Must provide exceptional customer service.
- Guard posts at the entry/exit points of the local base.
- Conduct foot & vehicle patrols of the interior and exterior of the grounds to ensure a safe and secure environment.
- Ensure unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas.
- Check for employee, vendor, and visitor identifications.
- Look for suspicious persons, packages and activities.
- Must follow site specific post guidelines.
- Document daily activities and report all incidents.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old and have at least a high school diploma or equivalent education certification, such as a GED, per MCL 338.1067.
- Must also be at least 21 years old and be a Michigan CPL or LEOSA cardholder to perform armed security work.
- Must not have been convicted of any felonies, per MCL 338.1060.
- Must not have been convicted of any misdemeanors related to dishonesty, fraud, impersonation of law enforcement, assault, weapons, unauthorized sale of information or evidence, controlled substances (including for marijuana), or two or more alcohol related offenses, per MCL 338.1060.
- Must pass a drug screening at the time of hire and randomly thereafter (including for marijuana).
- Must adhere to the company’s Uniform and Appearance policy and present a friendly, positive, and professional image.
- Must possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to de-escalate situations in a non-confrontational manner and be fluent in English.
- If driving vehicles, must possess a valid Michigan driver’s license and have a clean driving record.
- Must be willing to become CPR/First Aid/AED certified and be capable of administering care in emergency situations.
- Must pass a Physical Agility Test within 90 days of hire, and annually thereafter.
- Must be physically and mentally sound and remain alert while on duty.
- Must be able to sit, stand, and walk long distances, navigate stairs during an 8-12 hour shift.
- Must be able to work indoors or outdoors during all seasons.
- Must be able to manipulate keys, tools, and other equipment.
- Must be able to hear conversations in a noisy environment.
- Must be able to lift up to 70lbs.
- Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision.
High School Diploma or GED.
Certification Requirements (All)Michigan Concealed Pistol License (CPL) and Michigan Driver License.
