Security Officers - Flex

Job Overview

Sunstates Security is hiring Flex Security Officers in the Galesburg, MI area. Pay rate is $18.50/hr, paid weekly.

A Security Officer may perform a multitude of duties as specified by Post Orders and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The Security Officer will become extremely knowledgeable of Post Orders and SOP and will act quickly and efficiently according to such directives.

The Flex Officer provides trained support by working shifts that become open due to illness, call‑offs, weather, vacation, or other causes, ensuring continual service to customers while protecting personnel work balance.

• Trained at various posts and/or facilities based on operational need; not a permanent assignment.
• Schedule (shifts, days off, hours per week, etc.) will vary based on operational need.
• Assigned to or offered shifts as they become available due to staffing needs.
• Some shifts scheduled in advance and posted with the week’s schedule; may also be called with short notice to cover.
• Expected to work any scheduled shift; must communicate unavailability to supervisor.
• For short‑notice call‑ins, expected to work at least 80% of shifts called; refusal of more than 20% may negatively impact employment.

• Previous Security Officer experience preferred.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• 1+ years of experience in a customer service role.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Must complete drug screen and background check.
• Must be flexible and team oriented.
• Computer proficiency is a plus.
• Available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week; 500 hours per year to qualify for benefits.
