Armed Security Specialist

Job Overview

DK Security is Michigan’s fastest growing security company. Established in 1995, we began as an investigations firm and quickly expanded to provide uniform security, event staff security, loss prevention services, and more. We are looking for Armed Security Officers in Battle Creek, MI to protect the site’s building, grounds, assets, employees, and visitors against criminal activity.

• Provide exceptional customer service.
• Guard posts at entry/exit points of the local base.
• Conduct foot and vehicle patrols of interior and exterior grounds.
• Ensure unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas.
• Check employee, vendor, and visitor identifications.
• Look for suspicious persons, packages, and activities.
• Follow site specific post guidelines.
• Document daily activities and report all incidents.
• Other duties as assigned.

• At least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• For armed duty: at least 21 years old and possess a Michigan CPL or LEOSA card.
• No felony convictions and no disqualifying misdemeanors (per MCL 338.1060).
• Must pass a drug screening at time of hire and randomly thereafter.
• Must adhere to company uniform and appearance policy and present a friendly, positive, professional image.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; able to de‑scalate situations non‑confrontationally and fluent in English.
• If driving company or client vehicles: must have a valid Michigan driver’s license and a clean driving record (less than 3 moving violations and 2 at‑fault accidents in the last 3 years, no major violations).
• Must be willing to obtain CPR/First Aid/AED certification and be capable of administering care in emergencies.
• Must pass a Physical Agility Test within 90 days of hire and annually thereafter.
• Physically and mentally sound, able to remain alert, and complete a psychological evaluation upon hire.
• Must be able to sit, stand, walk long distances (including stairs) for shifts of 8–12 hours.
• Must work indoors and outdoors in all seasons.
• Must handle keys, tools, and equipment with hands and fingers.
• Must hear conversations in noisy environments (e.g., via two‑way radio).
• Must lift up to 70 lbs.
• Must work independently with little or no supervision.

• High School Diploma or GED.

• Michigan Concealed Pistol License (CPL).
• Michigan Driver License.

• Air National Guard Base – $21.93 per hour (2–3 days per week, 0710–1840 or 1840–0710 shifts).
