Overview

• Valid Michigan Concealed Pistol License and Driver’s License required*

Armed Security Officers protect the site’s building, grounds, assets, employees, and visitors. They control access at entry/exit points, serve as point of contact to visitors and patrons, and support critical security functions.

Air National Guard Base – $21.93/hour

Various Days (2-3 Days Per Week), 3rd Shift )

• Provide exceptional customer service.
• Post guard at entry/exit points of the local base.
• Conduct foot & vehicle patrols of interior and exterior grounds to ensure safety and security.
• Prevent unauthorized entry to restricted areas.
• Check employee, vendor, and visitor identifications.
• Look for suspicious persons, packages, and activities.
• Follow site-specific post guidelines.
• Document daily activities and report all incidents.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Minimum 18 years old with high school diploma or equivalent (GED) per MCL 338.1067.
• Must be at least 21 years old and hold Michigan CPL or LEOSA card for armed work.
• No felonies per MCL 338.1060.
• No misdemeanors related to dishonesty, fraud, impersonation of law enforcement, assault, weapons, unauthorized sale of information or evidence, controlled substances, or alcohol offenses per MCL 338.1060.
• Pass drug screening at hire and randomly thereafter (including marijuana).
• Adhere to company Uniform and Appearance policy, present friendly, positive, and professional image.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to de-escalate non-confrontationally; fluent English.
• Valid Michigan driver’s license, clean driving record (≤3 moving violations in last 3 years; ≤2 at-fault accidents; no other major violations).
• Willing to become CPR/First Aid/AED certified and capable of administering care in emergencies.
• Pass Physical Agility Test within 90 days of hire and annually thereafter (sprinting, sit-ups, push-ups, 1.5-mile run).
• Physically and mentally sound; must remain alert during duty; psychological evaluation at hire.
• Sit, stand, walk long distances, navigate stairs for shift (8-12 hours).
• Work indoors or outdoors in all seasons.
• Manipulate keys, tools, equipment with hands/fingers.
• Hear conversations (in person or via 2-w​ay radio) in noisy environments.
• Lift up to 70 lbs.
• Work independently with little or no supervision.

High School Diploma or GED.

Michigan Concealed Pistol License (CPL), Michigan Driver License.
