Armed Security Officers are responsible for protecting the site’s building, grounds, assets, employees and visitors against criminal activity. Officers at this location will work on a team to control access at the entry/exit points of a local military headquarters and will serve as a point of contact to all visitors and patrons.

• Part Time
  • Various Days Monday - Friday, 2nd Shift
  • 1–3 Days As Needed

• Rate of Pay: $19.50 per hour

Grayling, Michigan

• Provide exceptional customer service.
• Guard posts at the entry/exit points of the local military base.
• Conduct foot & vehicle patrols of the interior and exterior of the grounds to ensure a safe and secure environment.
• Ensure unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas.
• Check for employee, vendor, and visitor identifications.
• Look for suspicious persons, packages and activities.
• Follow site specific post guidelines.
• Document daily activities and report all incidents.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
• Must have a current, valid State of Michigan Concealed Pistol License.
• Must have either a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must not have any felony convictions and must be able to pass a criminal background check.
• Must pass a drug test at the time of hire and annually thereafter.
• Must be a citizen of the United States of America.
• Must have impeccable grooming and present a friendly, positive, professional image.
• Must possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and be able to solve problems and de-escalate situations.
• Must possess a valid State of Michigan driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Must be willing to become CPR/1st Aid/AED Certified.
• Prior experience in law enforcement, military, or armed security is preferred.
• Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision.
• Physical Requirements:
  • Must be physically and mentally sound.
  • Must be able to sit, stand or walk for the duration of the shift, including walking long distances and up/down stairs.
  • Must be readily able to respond to emergency situations.
  • Must be able to work in/outdoors during all seasons.
  • Must be able to hear conversations in noisy environments.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 70 pounds.
  • Must pass a Physical Agility Test within 90 days of hire, and annually thereafter.

  High School Diploma or GED.
• Certification Requirements:
  Michigan Concealed Pistol License (CPL) and LEOSA Credential.
