Electrician Master Licensed

Overview

To inspect, plan and coordinate the installation, repair and preventive maintenance of electrical systems, electrical components and equipment at CFA Kinross Business Office Facilities. This position complies with all applicable department policies, procedures, MIOSHA standards and laws while performing duties. Instructs and supervises skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled prisoners and staff in performing the above duties. Utilizes and instructs lower level workers in the proper use of various tools to accomplish these duties.

Develops material orders and specifications as well as monitors material inventories. Processes and monitors work requests and preventive maintenance database. This position is required to possess and maintain a valid State of Michigan, LARA, Master Electricians License. Position requires travel which could include overnight stays.

• Instructs and supervises skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled prisoners and staff in performing electrical duties.
• Instructs lower level workers in the proper use of tools and equipment.
• Develops material orders and specifications and monitors material inventories.
• Processes and monitors work requests and the preventive maintenance database.
• Travel as required, including potential overnight stays.

Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school.

• Electrician Master Licensed E10 — No specific type or amount of experience beyond licensure is required.
• Electrician Master Licensed 11 — One year of electrical trade experience equivalent to an Electrician Master Licensed E10.

• Possession of a master electrician's license (State of Michigan).
• Position requires travel and may include overnight stays.
• This is a drug and alcohol test-designated position; applicants are required to complete a drug test within 24 hours of a conditional offer of employment.
• Background screening:
  The Department of Corrections may screen out applicants who have been convicted of a felony in accordance with Public Act 191 of 2017; applicants with certain misdemeanor or felony convictions may be ineligible until satisfactory completion of any sentence, including parole or probation.
• New employee training:
  New hires and returning MDOC staff will complete required training, including non-custody new employee training (NCNET) as applicable.
