Responsibilities:
  • Lead projects effectively and efficiently
  • Allocate general and daily responsibilities to apprentices,machinerepairman, andotherforeman
  • Train and develop apprentices andmachinerepairman
  • Understanding design layouts and blueprints
  • Keep the job site clean and well-organized
  • Assist with coordination of materials, labor, and equipment
  • Ensure attention to detail and follow safety standards
  • Communicate with supervisor, estimator, PMs, and customers on the status of projects
  • Financial awareness- seeking opportunities tooptimizefinancial costs and investments while working on projects
  • Monitor, and report daily work progress through written summaries and job site pictures
Technical

Skills:
  • Job layout and processes for job completion
  • Inspect mechanicalor industrial equipment tolocatedamage, defects, or wear
  • Able todisassembleand repair stamping presses
  • Able to perform and delegate as requiredpipingrepairs-lube system repairs,thread pipe,tubingand steam fitting work
  • Able to verify run-out on spindles and shafts
  • Knowledge of bearing installation
  • Precise measurement of thickness, diameter, length, and width of machine components for installation,repairand quality control
  • Independently responsible for quality control
  • Select rigging components and develop rigging procedures for general load handling activities anddelegate, if necessary
  • Attach rigging to a load based upon a pre-planned rigging method or delegate support as required
  • Estimate the weight and center-of-gravity of a loador delegate support as required.
  • Identify suitable rigging points for the load to be handledor delegate support as required
  • Select the rated rigging components based on itsanticipatedtensionor delegate support as required
  • Analyze and understand the effects of angles on rigging componentsor delegate support as required
  • Understand proper procedures forload handling equipment dynamics and the associated hazards
  • Perform the positioning of chain falls, hoists, blocks, rope, jacks, chains and riggingor delegate support as required
  • Able to perform inspection ofcables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks,slingsand sheaves, according to weight and size of load to be movedordelegatesupport as required.
  • Torch cutting
  • Pneumatic and hydraulic schematic reading
  • Confined space entrant
  • Stick (arc) welding*
  • Confined space attendant/supervisor*
  • Signal or verbally direct workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensuresafetyof workers and materials.
  • Utilize and understand the constraints of chains, synthetic, metal mesh, and wire rope slings
  • Use & recognize rigging hardware including hooks, shackles, wire rope clips, clamps, eye bolts,softenersand tag lines
  • Identifiescommon load configurations & positioning
  • Rigger 2 training – trains on above
Equipment & Tool Operation:
  • Aerial
    -lift Operation - Boom Lift
  • Aerial
    -lift Operation - Scissor Lift
  • Forklift Operation - Material Handling up to 5000#
  • Trailer loading and securing of material & equipment
  • Precision measuring equipment (/OD micrometers, calipers, dial indicators)
  • Laser alignment*
  • CAD Software (Solid Works,Auto Desk)*
