The Apprentice Electrician position is active in a licensed program and assists with projects for the installation and repair of electrical power for motors, control panels and machines.
Essential Job Functions- Assist with installation of electrical wiring for motors and controls.
- Work alongside mechanics wiring conveyor sections.
- Inspect, repair or replace, any Electrical safety hazard.
- Write PCL programming, HMI programming.
- Inventory electrical parts to be shipped to customer sites.
- Assist Panel build (internal) department with electrical installation and testing of control panels.
- Maintains safe wiring practices per National Electrical Code 70E and Control Panel construction per Underwriters Laboratory Code 508.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
- 0-4 years of trade experience.
- A cacceptance into State Licensed Apprenticeship program.
- Required to take online Electrical Apprentice courses online - approximately 5 classes per year.
- P roficient with various software packages such as MS Office, AutoCAD, EPICOR or other ERP software.
- A bility to assist in electrical projects with up to 480vac, 3 phase a/c, wiring motors and machinery.
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret electrical schematics.
- Ability to assist with electrical volt and amp meters, various hand tools.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Standing and sitting for extended periods of time.
- Bending, lifting, twisting, and crawling for extended periods of time.
- W ork on the floor under equipment.
- Ability to move 75 +pounds – Apprentice/Journeyman.
- Exposure to High/Low voltage environments.
- Exposure to extreme temperatures.
- Ladders.
- Vision must be 20/20 or corrected to allow for reading of prints and wire numbers.
- Up to 75%
- Pursuing State Licensed Apprentice.
