Job Duties and Responsibilities- Operate various pieces of equipment accurately, efficiently and safely.
- Clean up around the plant and surrounding area.
- Lubricate and perform general maintenance on equipment.
- Follow directions.
- Participate in weekly safety meetings (Tool Box Talks).
- Display a professional and courteous attitude to co‑workers, supervisors, and the general public.
- Be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
- Be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
- Report to the assigned job site in proper work attire, ready to begin work at the designated start time.
- Strictly adhere to all safety practices and procedures.
- Strictly adhere to all company policies and procedures as outlined in the company policy book.
- Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co‑workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Previous experience helping operate or work around heavy equipment.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a pre‑employment screening and testing.
- Strict adherence to safety requirements, procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) policies.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to understand mathematical calculations including rates, ratios, percentages and basic graphs.
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of written instructions.
- Vision requirements include color, near and distance vision, peripheral, depth and focus perception.
- Ability to work at heights, climb and balance on ladders, scaffolds and stair towers.
- Requires walking, standing, sitting, bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, crawling, crouching and lifting.
- Regularly required to sit and/or stand during an eight‑hour shift on uneven surfaces, including natural ground and slopes in varying weather conditions.
- Regular use of hands to handle, feel, reach and manipulate tools, objects and controls.
- Must be able to carry, lift, push and pull up to 50 lb without assistance.
- Ability to operate equipment under extreme temperatures and for extended hours.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on project needs and demands.
- Work is performed outdoors on a job site, in extreme weather conditions and for extended hours.
- Environment periodically exposes employees to high levels of noise, dirt, grease and dust typical of construction projects.
- Employees regularly work with or near heavy equipment and moving machinery.
- Work may involve substances such as form oil, grease, curing compounds, gasoline, diesel fuel, asphalt and concrete.
- Workers may be exposed to wet, humid airborne particles, extreme heat or cold and occasional vibration.
- Noise levels usually require protective equipment at some facilities.
