Maintenance Specialist II - Lakeview Hospital

Location:

BLH Bronson Lake View Hospital, Paw Paw. Full Time, Variable Shift.

• Performs emergency, routine, and preventative maintenance in diverse areas such as carpentry, locksmith, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical. Must have working knowledge and experience in more than one of these areas.
• Demonstrated mechanical skills.
• Reading, writing, and following written and verbal instructions necessary.
• Understanding and operating diagnostic testing equipment required.
• Performs corrective maintenance repairs.
• Performs preventative maintenance inspections.
• Documents work performed.
• Achieves educational requirements and cross training.
• Researches and orders supplies as needed.
• Daily maintenance of equipment, facility repair, cleaning, and filling out required reports.
• Works with Manager on concerns and regulatory inspections to ensure clean reports and licensing.
• Prioritizes repairs of facilities and equipment on a daily basis for all departments.
• Evaluates all maintenance agreements and makes recommendations for improvements to services or cost-saving measures.
• Supervises all contractors onsite during scheduled work.
• Works with all departments to ensure life safety standards are met at all times.
• Works with Manager to prioritize maintenance tasks.
• Completes basic electrical work, carpentry work, plumbing, refrigeration/HVAC, and painting as needed or works with subcontractors to ensure quality and financial efficiency.
• Is on call when off duty as required by Manager.

• Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), 3-5 years experience, and/or HVAC and refrigeration certification preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally assist with heavier tasks or expending the equivalent effort in pushing, pulling, or otherwise handling material, equipment, and other objects.
• Must have working knowledge and experience in more than one of the specified maintenance areas.

• Must drive own vehicle on a regularly scheduled basis to perform business on behalf of Bronson.
• Must pass a motor vehicle record (MVR) check after an offer of employment has been made but prior to the employee’s start date.
• Must provide proof of valid auto insurance on that vehicle that will be driven while on duty for Bronson; must submit renewals before current coverage expires and update coverage with Bronson if a different vehicle is used.
