Position Summary
The Service Technician I is responsible for assisting with oversight of the physical assets and ensuring customer satisfaction. This position will assist in diagnosing problems and making general repairs and assists with apartment make‑readies. The role also assists with preventive maintenance and construction or rehabilitation projects for the property, exhibiting strong commitment to the service needs of internal and external customers and representing the company professionally.
EssentialJob Functions
- Use industry‑specific technology to ensure all repairs and replacements are completed timely to restore units to move‑in ready condition within company standards.
- Complete maintenance requests, replacements, and upkeep within company standards, including exterior grounds and common areas, troubleshoot HVAC, and assist with make‑readies.
- Assist with identifying and correcting hazardous community conditions and liabilities, and report hazards to Community Manager and Service Manager.
- Ensure that established preventive maintenance programs are followed and documented per BH program guidelines.
- Maintain and secure all property‑issued tools.
- Post notices to vacate and other community communication, if applicable.
- Share on‑call responsibilities, including inclement weather conditions, with the maintenance team.
- Respond to resident requests per company standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Understand and comply with OSHA and other safety requirements.
- Apply knowledge of federal, state, and local code and internal policies, initiatives, and systems regarding maintenance.
- Six months to one year of general maintenance and safety experience.
- Basic computer skills/knowledge required to perform job functions.
- Regularly performs manual, task‑oriented work under direct supervision.
- High School or GED is a plus.
- Working knowledge of HVAC and required hand tools.
Lifting up to 50 pounds; full range of motion with upper and lower body; continual movement including standing, walking, bending, stooping, crawling, and climbing stairs; ability to use both hands for frequent grasping and manipulation; push or pull items and reach overhead; operation of a motor vehicle onsite, if applicable; exposure to all weather conditions.
Pay Range$18.11 - $27.17
