Trades Leader – Corning – Hemlock, MI.
Purpose of the PositionThe Trades leader will oversee day-to-day maintenance technician and skilled trades operations, ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of plant production equipment. This hands-on leader will utilize their skilled trades expertise and tools (electrician, pipefitter, millwright, or maintenance technician) to support maintenance teams, troubleshoot equipment issues, and coordinate preventative and corrective maintenance activities in a planned and scheduled environment.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee daily maintenance operations of production equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards.
- Lead maintenance technicians and skilled trades in performing preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance.
- Coordinate daily maintenance tasks for operational efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and repair complex equipment failures.
- Perform hands-on maintenance work and train team members.
- Improve and oversee preventative maintenance programs.
- Document work performed in maintenance management systems.
- Collaborate with engineers, facilities team, contractors, and vendors for repairs and maintenance.
- Train and mentor team members.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Journeyman certification in a skilled trade preferred.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a skilled trade role or technical maintenance role.
- Previous experience supervising trades or acting as a lead technician is a plus.
- Proficiency in at least one skilled trade.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with industrial systems.
- Effective communication and team coordination skills.

Pay range: $38.00-$46.00 hourly. Additional benefits available include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits and PTO.
