Position Overview

Title 32 Electronics Mechanic (MI SMO – MATES) – Position Description Number NGD
1205000, part of the MI MATES, Michigan Army National Guard.

• Michigan Army National Guard membership is required.
• Military grade E1–WO1.

Qualifications are based on breadth and level of experience. Applicants must provide dates of each employment period (MM/YYYY–MM/YYYY) and hours worked per week. Resumes are limited to 2 pages in length.

• Knowledge of electrical or electronic theory.
• Knowledge of common testing procedures.
• Skill in the use of hand tools of the electronics trade.
• Skill in reading schematics.

• Experience or training in utilizing principles, basic functions, and application of theory of electronic systems or equipment (approximately 18 months for grade 09 and above).
• Experience in diagnosing problems and determining needed repairs for malfunctioning electronic equipment or systems.
• Experience in making mechanical repairs that require precision measuring and calibrating equipment.
• Experience in using complex test equipment such as deviation meters and special test panels.
• Experience that demonstrates the ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications, and publications.

The applicant’s record of experience, training, and education must show possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position.
