Location: Paw Paw

Position Description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for scheduled, unscheduled and preventive maintenance and repair of a wide variety of beverage manufacturing and packaging equipment, requiring strong mechanical skills in hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, conveyor systems and PLC usage. The technician must complete all work to a high standard, perform maintenance across the installed asset base, observe and discuss equipment performance, and recommend improvement activities.

The role promotes and supports company quality & safety standards with a focus on continuous improvement.

Compensation and Benefits

Sign‑On Bonus
: $2,000

Starting Pay
: $33.22/hr with progression to $34.41/hr after a successful training period, plus applicable shift premiums.

Schedule
:
Flexible to work varying shifts based on business needs, including weekends, overnight, holidays, and 10‑ or 12‑hour schedules.

Relocation
: up to $5,000 in assistance.

Essential Job Functions
  • Adhere to all health and safety policies/procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) while in the warehouse or production areas.
  • Adhere to food quality and food safety as per corporate, customer, and governing bodies (e.g., SQF).
  • Report problems with the FSMS to responsible managerial employees to initiate corrective actions.
  • Perform repair maintenance, preventive maintenance, and line changeovers.
  • Troubleshoot machinery for malfunctions (electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, & pneumatic).
  • Perform maintenance on all production supporting equipment (e.g., glycol system, RO system, compressed air system, lubrication systems, chemical distribution systems).
  • Use innovative thinking when troubleshooting equipment to minimize production downtime, assure food safety, product quality and personnel safety.
  • Complete, document, and retrieve final approvals on all assigned work orders, recording all utilized part numbers for inventory purposes.
  • Communicate effectively and completely all relevant maintenance and production related information from shift to relieving shift.
  • Assist in training other maintenance personnel.
  • Communicate with production during periods of downtime.
  • Work collaboratively with adjacent teams to resolve issues rapidly and drive improvement.
Required Skills
  • Knowledge of GMPs.
  • Understanding of Food Safety Requirements.
  • Ability to read, understand, and work with machinery blueprints and parts manuals.
  • Work independently without supervision.
  • Good decision‑making/problem‑solving skills.
  • Must obtain and maintain forklift certification.

Education and Experience
  • Three (3) plus years of experience in industrial manufacturing maintenance.
  • Electrical/electronic troubleshooting and repair skills required.
  • Candidates may need to complete a Mechanical (Electrical) Skills and Aptitude Assessment.
Position‑Specific Skills
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) in all units of measure.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Ability to work flexible hours if needed.
Working Conditions
  • Work schedule includes weekdays, weekends, afternoons, evenings, and overnight with overtime as needed.
  • Fast‑paced production plant with noise requiring hearing protection; temperatures can vary.
Travel Requirements
  • Minimal travel may be required for training.
Physical Requirements
  • Occasional lifting or carrying up to 100 pounds.
  • Push or pull up to 25 pounds.
  • Continuous standing and walking for extended periods on concrete surfaces.
  • Repeated kneeling, bending, crouching, reaching, climbing, or stooping during shifts.
  • Successful completion of post‑offer drug screen and background check required.
