GFL Environmental is seeking a skilled Fleet Mechanic to maintain and repair our trucks and equipment that support waste, recycling, and environmental services. In this on-site role, you'll diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulics, brakes, electrical systems, and related components to keep our fleet safe, compliant, and reliable. Responsibilities include performing preventive maintenance, responding to breakdowns, completing repair documentation, and following strict safety and environmental standards.

Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel trucks and related fleet equipment
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend asset life
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, brake, suspension, and electrical systems
- Respond to road calls and breakdowns to safely return vehicles to service
- Maintain accurate service records and ensure regulatory and safety compliance
- Use diagnostic tools, manuals, and schematics to identify mechanical issues
- Follow all safety, environmental, and housekeeping standards in the shop
- Collaborate with operations teams to prioritize repairs and equipment availability
- Assist with parts ordering, inventory, and coordination with vendors
- Support continuous improvement of maintenance processes and shop efficiency
Required Skills
- Diesel engine diagnostics and repair
