About the RoleDivergent Alliance is hiring an experienced Fleet Mechanic to maintain and repair our utility fleet out of the Edwardsburg, MI yard. This is a hands-on role covering aerial/utility equipment and light- to medium-duty trucks. The company provides an equipped mechanic truck, diagnostic equipment, and all large equipment and specialty tooling. Hand tools are expected to be provided by the mechanic.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (one-hour unpaid lunch)
Reports to:
Fleet Manager
Pay: $45/hr, based on experience and CDL, plus available overtime
Target Start:
September 2026
- Proficient in utility equipment repair, Altec and Terex aerial devices and digger derricks
- Proficient in light- and medium-duty engine repair
- Strong working knowledge of modern diesel engines and emissions control systems (DPF, DEF/SCR, EGR, regens)
- Driveline, chassis, suspension, and brake repair
- Body and HVAC repair and diagnostics
- Ability to diagnose with OEM and aftermarket scan tools
- Valid CDL Class A/B with clean MVR
- Own hand tools
- Proficiency or willingness to learn modern fleet repair/work order software applications
This position supports storm restoration events. The mechanic must be available to deploy on short notice, including nights, weekends, and extended stays away from home. Overtime during storm events is plentiful, and lodging and meals are covered while deployed. Willingness to travel on short notice is a firm requirement of the job, not an occasional request.
