HVAC Service Specialist Custom Sheet Metal & Heating, Inc. Free Soil, MI
$28-$35 per hour
Custom Sheet Metal and Heating is seeking an experienced HVAC professional to service and repair residential and commercial heating and cooling systems. We are looking for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship, communicates well with customers, and can confidently troubleshoot a variety of equipment.
Our technicians receive a company vehicle, modern tools and technology, continued training, and opportunities to advance within a stable and established organization.
Compensation$28-$35 per hour, plus performance spiffs, depending on experience

The HVAC Service Specialist will diagnose, maintain, and repair residential and commercial HVAC equipment. This position requires the ability to evaluate system performance, identify appropriate repair or replacement solutions, explain recommendations clearly to customers, and complete service documentation accurately.
Additional responsibilities include reading wiring diagrams and blueprints, applying basic sheet metal practices, performing air-balancing work, and safely operating scissors lifts and Genie lifts when required. The technician must be comfortable accepting responsibility, working independently, and providing leadership when needed.
Required Qualifications- Minimum of two years of HVAC service experience
- EPA certification
- Valid driver's license and insurable driving record
- Availability to participate in the required on-call work schedule
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities
- Familiarity with a wide range of residential and commercial HVAC equipment
- Experience evaluating repair-versus-replacement options
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and blueprints
- Knowledge of basic sheet metal practices
- Understanding of air-balancing principles and techniques
- Ability to safely operate scissors lifts and Genie lifts
- Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills
- Willingness to take responsibility and step into leadership roles
NATE certification and completion of an HVAC trade-school program are preferred.
