Journeyman Electrician

The Journeyman Electrician position is active in a licensed program and assists with projects for the installation and repair of electrical power for motors, control panels and machines.

• Installation of electrical wiring for motors and controls.
• Leads a crew of mechanics wiring conveyor sections.
• Inspect, repair, or replace any Electrical safety hazard.
• Inventory electrical parts to be shipped to customer sites.
• Assist Panel build (internal) department with electrical installation and testing of control panels.
• Maintains safe wiring practices per National Electrical Code 70E and Control Panel construction per Underwriters Laboratory Code 508.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

• 4-6 years of trade experience.
• Acceptance into State Licensed Journeyman program.
• Proficient with various software packages such as MS Office, AutoCAD, EPICOR or other ERP software.
• Ability to understand math calculations.
• Industrial and commercial experience preferred.
• Ability to lead electrical projects with up to 480vac, 3 phase a/c, wiring motors and machinery.
• Pneumatics and/or hydraulic experience.
• Ability to read blueprints, AutoCAD, interpret and modify electrical schematics.
• Ability to assist with electrical volt and amp meters, various hand tools

• High School Diploma or GED preferred

• Standing and sitting for extended periods of time
• Bending, lifting, twisting, crawling for extended periods of time
• Work on the floor under equipment
• Ability to move 75 +pounds – Apprentice/Journeyman
• Exposure to High/Low voltage environments
• Exposure to extreme temperatures
• Ladders
• Vision must be 20/20 or corrected to allow for reading of prints and wire numbers
