Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a School Social Worker and make a meaningful impact in the lives of middle and high school students near Clarkston, MI. You'll work full-time with a manageable caseload of approximately 40 students, supporting their social, emotional, and academic success across diverse backgrounds and needs.
Bring your expertise as a dedicated professional ready to collaborate with school staff, families, and community partners to deliver essential support services. This position offers the chance to build positive relationships and promote the well-being of adolescents during some of their most formative years.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Social Work required
- Valid Michigan School Social Work licensure
- Previous experience with school-aged youth, ideally in grades 6-12
- Strong assessment, counseling, and crisis intervention abilities
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families
- Familiarity with IEP processes and social-emotional supports
- Provide direct individual and group counseling services to students on your caseload
- Conduct assessments to evaluate students' strengths and areas of need
- Participate in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student success
- Deliver crisis intervention as needed, addressing urgent concerns that arise
- Connect students and families with relevant school and community resources
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
