Position SummaryThis role provides critical support across Unaccompanied Children (UC) Programs, assisting key functions including Medical Coordination, Intake/Discharge, and Nutrition & Food Services. The Social Work Assistant helps ensure seamless coordination of care and services, supporting youth throughout their program journey.
Responsibilities may also include transportation of youth and cross‑functional support as assigned by leadership.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct support and auxiliary services to youth under the direction of medical and casework leadership
- Coordinate and assist with medical appointments, billing tasks, and documentation
- Support intake and discharge processes, ensuring all requirements are completed accurately
- Transport youth safely to appointments, school, and other necessary locations
- Supervise youth during appointments and program activities
- Observe, document, and report behavioral and situational updates to supervisors or caseworkers
- Complete progress notes and maintain accurate records in case management systems
- Collaborate with the UC Services team to ensure comprehensive service delivery
- Assist with additional program needs as assigned by leadership
Education
- Associate degree in Human Services or related field OR
- High school diploma/GED with at least 60 college credits or equivalent experience required
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, Human Services, or related field preferred
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in child welfare, social services, or refugee resettlement preferred
- Valid, unrestricted driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Reliable transportation suitable for transporting youth
- Proof of current vehicle registration and insurance
- Ability to work primarily onsite
- Participation in a 24/7 on‑call rotation and shift coverage as needed
