The following position is available for the school year:
School/Home Coordinator Seymour ElementaryKEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Family & Community Engagement: Serve as the primary liaison between families and school staff; organize family nights and engagement activities.
- Attendance & Intervention Support: Monitor student attendance trends and collaborate with school counselors, social workers, and teachers to implement attendance intervention plans.
- Resource Coordination: Connect families with local Genesee County and Flushing community resources (food assistance, housing support, mental health services, and academic assistance).
- Communication: Maintain open channels of communication with families calls, emails, and meetings
- Data & Tracking: Maintain accurate, confidential records of family contacts, intervention strategies, and resource referrals to track student progress.
- Education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in social work, Psychology, Family Studies, Education, or a related field (preferred). High school diploma with equivalent relevant experience considered.
- Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of experience working with children, families, or community support programs in an educational or human services setting preferred.
- Key
Skills:- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Empathy and the ability to handle sensitive/confidential family situations.
- Proficiency with basic technology tools
Salary: $18.94
