An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced mental health professional to support general education students in a dynamic and supportive school environment for the 2025-26 academic year. Located near Lake Orion, MI, this contract role focuses on providing essential counseling and social-emotional support at the high school level. Your skills in student care, documentation, and communication will be highly valued, and youll quickly move through the interview process if your experience aligns.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver individual and group counseling services to general education students
- Support classrooms and buildings with initiatives such as professional learning and the implementation of positive behavior programs
- Maintain thorough, accurate SOAP notes and electronic documentation using Google Suite tools
- Collaborate with educators and staff to promote student well-being
- Participate in the development and delivery of mental health programming
Qualifications:
- Masters degree required no exceptions
- Active LARA license or appropriate Michigan credential (LLP, LMSW, SCL, PSCC, TSCL, or equivalent)
- Experience in a school setting as a social worker, school counselor, psychologist, or similar mental health specialist
- Familiarity with SOAP note documentation and comfortable with electronic recordkeeping
- Proficiency with Google applications and electronic documentation systems
