Essential
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited college or university
- Fully licensed SW or MSW Limited License in Michigan (MI-SW)
- Hold one of the following:
Preliminary School Social Worker Certificate (PSSWC), Professional School Social Worker Certificate (PSWC), or School Social Worker Permit (SSWP) - Current LARA license required
- Background in school or youth-centered environments is preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group counseling to students, addressing social, behavioral, and emotional concerns
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to assess student needs and develop intervention strategies
- Participate in assessments, develop plans, and maintain detailed documentation in accordance with school and state guidelines
- Advocate for students well-being and help connect families to community resources and support services
- Contribute to school-wide initiatives that promote a safe, inclusive, and positive educational setting
