About the Role

As a Senior Python Data Engineer
, you will make an impact by designing, building, and optimizing scalable data pipelines and cloud-native applications that enable reliable, high-performance data processing and integration. You will be a valued member of the engineering team and work collaboratively with data engineers, software developers, architects, product stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to deliver business-critical solutions.

• Design, build, and optimize data ingestion, transformation, and processing pipelines using modern Python data frameworks.
• Develop, deploy, and maintain serverless REST APIs and event-driven applications on AWS.
• Integrate AWS services and enterprise data platforms to ensure reliable messaging, orchestration, and state management.
• Leverage AI-powered development tools to accelerate coding, testing, documentation, and overall software delivery.
• Contribute to a fast-paced engineering environment focused on delivering high-quality solutions with speed, scalability, and reliability.

• 3 to 6 years of software or data engineering background.
• Expert-level Python development skills with hands-on experience using data processing frameworks such as Pandas and Py Spark .
• Strong experience designing and implementing scalable data pipelines and data transformation solutions.
• Deep knowledge of AWS cloud services, including Lambda, API Gateway, Kinesis, SQS, and Event Bridge
  .
• Experience building REST APIs, event-driven architectures, and enterprise integration solutions.
• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, testing methodologies, and CI/CD processes.
• Experience working in agile development environments and collaborating across technical teams.

• Experience with the Databricks platform and cloud-based analytics solutions.
• Knowledge of large-scale distributed data processing and big data architectures.
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity.
• Familiarity with modern data integration patterns and serverless application design.
• Strong communication and technical documentation skills.

The annual salary for this position ranges from $100,000 to $114,000
, depending on experience and qualifications. This role is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, subject to performance and applicable plan terms.
