Summary
Beagle Middle School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to serve as a coach for our middle school track team. This seasonal position requires a passion for athletics and a commitment to fostering a positive and supportive environment for student-athletes. The ideal candidate will have experience in track and field, strong leadership skills, and the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
Responsibilities
* Plan and conduct daily practice sessions, focusing on skill development, conditioning, and teamwork.
* Develop training plans tailored to the needs and abilities of individual athletes.
* Organize and supervise track meets and competitions, ensuring a safe and positive experience for all participants.
* Monitor and evaluate athlete performance, providing constructive feedback and encouragement.
* Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and a positive attitude among athletes.
* Communicate regularly with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding schedules, expectations, and progress.
* Ensure compliance with all school and district policies regarding athletics.
* Assist in the recruitment and retention of student-athletes for the track program.
* Collaborate with other coaches and staff to promote a comprehensive athletic program at Beagle Middle School.
* Attend coaching clinics and workshops as necessary to stay current with best practices in coaching and athlete development.
Requirements
* Previous coaching experience in track and field or related sports at the middle school or high school level.
* Knowledge of track and field techniques, rules, and strategies.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students, parents, and staff.
* Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes while promoting a culture of respect and teamwork.
* First Aid and CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain prior to the start of the season.
* Availability to work after school hours, including evenings and weekends for practices and competitions.
* A commitment to the academic and personal development of student-athletes.
* Background check and clearances as required by school policy.
