Summary
Grand Ledge High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Freshman Boys Soccer Coach for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will have a passion for soccer and a commitment to developing young athletes both on and off the field. This seasonal position requires strong leadership, communication skills, and the ability to foster a positive team environment while promoting sportsmanship and teamwork.
Responsibilities- Plan and conduct daily soccer practices, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and game strategies.
- Develop game plans and strategies for competitive matches, ensuring players understand their roles and responsibilities.
- Coach and mentor student-athletes during practices and games, providing constructive feedback and encouragement.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that emphasizes respect, discipline, and sportsmanship.
- Communicate regularly with players, parents, and school administration regarding team activities, schedules, and expectations.
- Monitor the academic and athletic progress of team members, encouraging a balance between academics and sports.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all players during practices and games, adhering to school policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other coaching staff and school officials to promote the soccer program and enhance student participation.
- Attend all scheduled games and practices, as well as pre-season meetings and training sessions.
- Previous coaching experience, preferably at the high school level or with youth soccer programs.
- Strong knowledge of soccer techniques, rules, and strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with players, parents, and school staff.
- Ability to create a positive and motivating environment for student-athletes.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to the season).
- A commitment to the academic and athletic success of student-athletes.
- Must pass a background check as required by school district policies.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends during the soccer season.
