Overview

Fleet Service & Parts Technician — Position based out of Bear Lake, Michigan. Full-time hours + competitive benefit package.

Job Purpose

We are seeking a Fleet Maintenance Technician to support the day-to-day operation of our commercial truck fleet. This is a hands-on, hourly position that plays a key role in keeping our vehicles safe, compliant, and on the road. This role combines parts coordination, light-to-moderate repair work, and vehicle shuttling, making it ideal for someone with a background in fleet or truck maintenance who enjoys variety and responsibility.

Responsibilities
  • Fleet Maintenance Support
    • Assist with maintenance and repair work on commercial trucks and equipment
    • Perform inspections, basic diagnostics, and preventative maintenance
    • Support senior mechanics with repairs as needed
    • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment
  • Parts & Inventory Coordination
    • Order parts and supplies for fleet maintenance and repairs
    • Communicate with vendors and suppliers on availability, pricing, and delivery
    • Track parts usage and help maintain inventory levels
    • Coordinate parts needs with shop staff to minimize vehicle downtime
  • Vehicle Shuttling & Logistics
    • Shuttle trucks to and from repair shops, vendors, and company locations
    • Assist with vehicle movements within the yard or between facilities
    • Support fleet logistics during peak maintenance or repair periods
  • General Fleet Support
    • Assist with recordkeeping related to maintenance and repairs
    • Communicate clearly with management regarding vehicle status and repair needs
    • Pitch in where needed to support overall fleet operations
Qualifications
  • This is a hands-on, hourly position supporting the day-to-day operation of a commercial truck fleet
  • Experience or background in fleet or truck maintenance is preferred
  • Ability to perform inspections, basic diagnostics, and preventative maintenance
  • Ability to assist with repairs as needed and maintain a safe, organized work environment
  • Strong communication with management and vendors
