Operates a multi-passenger specialized vehicle to transport residents to services within the community.

• Operate vehicles with specialized equipment, such as wheelchair lifts to transport and secure passengers with special needs.
• Drive multi-passenger vehicles to transport residents between Village and destination such as appointments, shopping areas, Village sponsored activities.
• Communicate with the community by radio, telephone, or computer to exchange information and receive requests for passenger transportation.
• Pick up or meet residents according to requests, appointments, or other needs.
• Assist residents on and off bus, ensure they are seated properly, and help carry belongings.
• Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations, using telephones or mobile two-way radios.
• Comply with traffic regulations to operate vehicles in a safe and courteous manner.
• Check the condition of a vehicle s tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil, fuel, water, and safety equipment to ensure that everything is in working order; vacuum and clean interiors, and wash and polish exteriors of vehicles; report any bus malfunctions or needed repairs.
• Record information on trip sheets, along with trip information such as time and place of pickup and drop-off; prepare and submit reports that may include the number of passengers or trips, hours worked, mileage, and fuel.
• Attend and participate in all appropriate meetings and training opportunities in order to keep informed on current information and skill development.
• Follow established policies and procedures including Presbyterian Villages policies and Safety policies and Federal, state and local regulations.
• All other duties as assigned.

High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)

No prior experience necessary

Must be able to work with a computer.

Must have a current Michigan Chauffeurs License/CDL

Must be insurable by Village’s insurance carrier.
