Location: Swartz Creek
We are seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious individual to join our team as a Summer Camp Bus Driver for the 2026 season. This seasonal position is vital in providing safe and reliable transportation for students to and from school. The ideal candidate will possess excellent driving skills, a passion for working with children, and a commitment to ensuring a positive and enjoyable experience for all campers.
Responsibilities- Safely transport students to and from school.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance with all regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized bus interior and exterior.
- Follow the established route and schedule, ensuring timely arrivals and departures.
- Communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and students regarding transportation schedules and any changes.
- Enforce safety rules and regulations on the bus and ensure that all passengers are seated properly.
- Assist students in boarding and disembarking from the bus, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Report any vehicle issues or incidents to the Transportation Supervisor promptly.
- Participate in training sessions and safety meetings as required.
- Uphold a positive and friendly attitude, fostering a welcoming environment for students.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for passenger transportation.
- Proven experience driving large vehicles, preferably in a school or camp setting.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with children and parents.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening prior to employment.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and late afternoons, throughout the summer camp season.
- CPR and First Aid certification is a plus, or willingness to obtain certification before the start of the camp.
- A passion for working with children and contributing to a positive school experience.
