Job Summary
The Operations Supervisor monitors all operations including but not limited to processing shipments, preparing paperwork, communicating freight status, and dispatching drivers for pick up. The supervisor is the primary interface between Pilot Freight Services, customers, sales, system operations, and vendors, providing quality customer service while meeting company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities- Continual process analysis of operational systems, procedures, and staffing to drive continuous improvement in operating efficiencies.
- Assist District Manager with general tasks.
- Ensure safe operations and compliance with all OSHA regulations, applicable laws, and Pilot’s Corporate Policies.
- Effectively train, supervise, coach and evaluate all direct reports to foster good communication and morale.
- Review operational key performance measures monthly and benchmark data to drive corrections or improvement strategies.
- Communicate freight status and any problems to customers, vendors and other Pilot stations and personnel.
- Freight handling via forklift.
- Load/off-load build trucks for optimal routing.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Customer service background preferred.
- Ability to read key elements of financial statements in support of functional role responsibilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Superior organizational and time management skills.
- Approachable and motivated.
- Knowledge of systems utilized as it relates to logistics.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment.

$65,000 - $75,000 per year (anticipated starting salary range; final salary determined with selected candidate and applicable laws).
