Position: Lead, Inbound Receiving & Vendor Performance
Location: Byron Center

Spartan Nash Associates, LLC is seeking a Lead, Inbound Receiving & Vendor Performance to oversee inbound deliveries and vendor compliance at our retail distribution operations. You will coordinate dock scheduling, verify receipts, resolve shipment discrepancies, and ensure inventory accuracy to support fresh, affordable food availability. This role analyzes vendor performance metrics, drives process improvements, and partners with suppliers, warehouse, and transportation teams.

You will lead and train a small team, uphold safety and quality standards, and contribute to a people first, values driven culture focused on service and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily inbound receiving operations, including dock scheduling, unloading, verification, and documentation of shipments
  • Monitor and analyze vendor performance metrics such as on time delivery, fill rates, and quality issues
  • Resolve discrepancies, damages, and receiving errors to maintain inventory accuracy
  • Collaborate with suppliers, transportation, warehouse, and merchandising teams to improve flow of goods
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, routing guides, food safety, and regulatory requirements
  • Use WMS and related systems to track receipts, create reports, and identify process improvements
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures for inbound and vendor performance
  • Lead, coach, and schedule receiving staff, promoting a people first, safety focused culture
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce costs in inbound logistics
  • Communicate performance results and recommendations to management and key stakeholders
