The role of Supplier Performance Manager (SPM) interfaces with the purchasing and supplier quality teams and the supplier base to improve supplier performance. The role involves deep diving into suppliers and sub-tiers to identify risks, drive on-time/on-quality delivery, and support industrialization/production readiness. Regular onsite and/or remote follow-up with each assigned supplier is required, as well as regular reporting to internal and/or external stakeholders and customers.
YOU Will Do
- Responsible for the assessment, approvals, and monitoring of suppliers
- Report regularly on results, risks, projects and general information relative to the suppliers to internal and/or external stakeholders and customers as required
- Support the development of suppliers (Supplier Development)
- Lead the implementation of the Supplier Performance management strategy for respective suppliers
- Flow down performance targets to suppliers and associated team members
- Define Supplier Development key targets based on business requirements and manage their flow down and implementation
- Define the Supplier Surveillance Plan and the audit schedule
- Monitor and communicate supplier performance actions and plans (risks and mitigation plan, supplier production readiness, etc.)
- Implement relevant Supplier Key Performance Indicators to properly monitor supplier performance
- Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain or related field, 3+ years of experience with a Quality System, and 2+ years materials and/or purchasing and/or lean manufacturing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3+ years management or supervisory experience strongly preferred
- Ability to travel frequently, as needed
- Quick learner with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, maintain focus, and adapt to a variety of challenges
- Experience working in a team environment with project management
- Priority management and ability to resolve conflicts (internally & externally)
- Ability to negotiate with and persuade others
- Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills
- Executive presence and ability to drive successful supplier relationships while representing the company externally
- Change management understanding
- Team player and ability to coach others
- Innovative & solution-oriented
- Strong sense of time organization and urgency
- Knowledge of aviation manufacturing, supply chain, planning, engineering, and quality concepts; machine, sheet metal, casting, forging, forming, composite, and/or raw material commodities
- Strong analytical skill set mandatory; prefer advanced Microsoft (Excel, PowerPoint) skills
- Familiar with ERP systems (Oracle and/or SAP desired) and SRM
- Ability to influence others and lead small teams while also being able to work independently
At ST Engineering, we offer great rewards, competitive pay, career advancement and growth opportunities. Estimate salary range for this role: $88,200 to $127,300 per year. ST Engineering considers several factors with extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates’ key skills, relevant work experience, education/training/certification, job level, and work location. Base salary is only one component of our competitive Total Rewards package.
