Product Design Engineer

Insight Global is seeking a Product Design Engineer to support an aviation customer in the Baltimore metro area. The Engineer supports the Aftermarket Services team by developing, improving, and managing tools used for field repairs and maintenance after product delivery. This role partners with engineering teams and external suppliers to support global tooling needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own technical scope of aftermarket tooling and drive improvements.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Design, and Product Support Engineering teams.
• Manage tool design suppliers and support new tooling development.
• Ensure tooling meets regional certification standards (UL, CE).
• Validate, test, and release tools for field use.
• Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and documentation.
• Manage tooling lifecycle and documentation within PLM (3DX/ENOVIA).

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical field (or equivalent experience).
• 1–5+ years of engineering experience; tool design exposure preferred.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and use CAD tools (CATIA, Solid Works, or Creo).
• Experience with PLM systems preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, and technical writing skills.
