NEUTRON

Neutron is a medium-lift launch vehicle capable of delivering megaconstellations of tomorrow, high-assurance payloads, and human spaceflight. As a highly reusable launch platform, Neutron aims to provide a cost-effective and reliable launch solution leveraging Rocket Lab's proven execution history with the Electron program.

COMPOSITE TECHNICIAN

Composite Technicians will be based at Rocket Lab s Space Structures Complex production facility in Middle River, MD. The role involves build and assembly of composite components used in the Neutron Launch Vehicle structure.

WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO
  • Assemble structures including setup, bonding and fastener applications
  • Laminate assemblies by determining proper placement of composite materials
  • Prepare parts for bagging, including placement of bleeders, thermocouples, probes and vacuum connections
  • Vacuum bag processing, bonding, and oven/autoclave curing
  • Make basic layouts on parts or assemblies to establish reference points and check dimensions with calipers, micrometers, precision scales and torque wrenches
  • Fit honeycomb, foam and syntactic core
  • Fit and refurbish thermal protection systems
  • Integrate mechanical hardware
  • Perform other standard composite and integration building techniques as aerospace and space industries demand
  • You may be asked to work on other Rocket Lab products in the local area or travel as required
YOU’LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS AS A LEAD COMPOSITE TECH
  • 10+ years of experience in composite production, military equipment maintenance, or mechanical troubleshooting, installation, repair of manufacturing equipment
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience using various hand and power tools
THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE
  • Experience in core bond and splicing
  • Broad industry manufacturing experience
  • 1+ years of composite experience (aerospace industry preferred)
  • Advanced prepreg manufacturing knowledge
  • Resin infusion knowledge
  • Intermediate math skills
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Standing for long periods and climbing ladders; bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching as needed
  • Able to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted
  • Climb ladders and be comfortable working in tight spaces
  • Move repetitively, bend or twist, and use hands to handle tools and controls
  • Walk or stand for extended periods (minimum 8 hours)
  • Stooping, bending, crawling, and maneuvering in tight spaces
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis based on job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience. Base salary is one component of our total rewards package, which may include equity and a robust benefits package including medical, dental, vision, paid vacation and sick leave, holidays, retirement plans, and other perks. Benefits eligibility varies by status; confirm details with a recruiter.

Base Pay Range (MD Only): $37 — $45 USD
