The Dishwasher plays a vital role in maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen environment at Hygea Healthcare, ensuring the proper sanitation of all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment. Working in a healthcare or behavioral health setting, the Dishwasher helps promote a safe and healthy environment for patients, staff, and visitors by adhering to strict cleanliness and hygiene protocols. This position requires attention to detail, speed, and the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining compliance with healthcare safety standards.

• Sanitation & Cleaning:
• Wash and sanitize all dishes, utensils, kitchen equipment, and food preparation areas in compliance with healthcare facility standards.
• Operate commercial dishwashing machines and ensure proper use of detergents and sanitizing agents.
• Hand‑wash and sanitize delicate kitchen items as necessary.
• Properly dispose of food waste and garbage, adhering to waste management policies and infection control guidelines.
• Assist in the removal of recycling and composting materials.
• Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks as needed, such as peeling vegetables, preparing ingredients, and assembling trays for meal service.
• Help with the setup, cleaning, and breakdown of food service areas.
• Compliance & Safety:
• Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations, including those specific to healthcare environments (e.g., infection control standards).
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following health department codes and Hygea Healthcare policies.
• Report any maintenance or safety issues to the supervisor immediately.

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience in a kitchen or healthcare/behavioral health setting is a plus.
• Familiarity with commercial dishwashing equipment and food service sanitation protocols is preferred.

Full‑time, with flexible shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on facility needs.
