Position:
Mechanical Technician
We are currently seeking Mechanical Technicians at several experience levels to join our team. Technicians will be based out of Rocket Lab's newest Space Structures Complex production facility in Middle River, MD. The Mechanical Technicians will be responsible for the build and assembly of components used in the production of the Neutron Launch Vehicle structure.
Responsibilities- Work on a high caliber cross functional team
- Building mechanical structures and related components
- Watch the hardware you build evolve into a completed Rocket and go to space
- Uphold shop cleanliness and organization
- Utilize proper PPE
- Integration of Mechanical Hardware
NOTE:
This requisition can be hired at a Technician Level I, II, III, or Senior.
Mechanical Tech I
- Experience in mechanical assembly, technical repair, mechanical maintenance or similar in a highly regulated manufacturing or maintenance environment
- High School Diploma or GED
- Familiarity with hand, power, pneumatic, and inspection tools
Mechanical Tech II
- 2+ years of experience in mechanical assembly, technical repair, mechanical maintenance or similar in a highly regulated manufacturing or maintenance environment
- High School Diploma or GED
- Familiarity with hand, power, pneumatic, and inspection tools
Mechanical Tech III
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical assembly, technical repair, mechanical maintenance or similar in a highly regulated manufacturing or maintenance environment
- High School Diploma or GED
- Familiarity with hand, power, pneumatic, and inspection tools
Senior Mechanical Tech
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical assembly, technical repair, mechanical maintenance or similar in a highly regulated manufacturing or maintenance environment
- High School Diploma or GED
- Familiarity with hand, power, pneumatic, and inspection tools
Nice to have
- A&P (Airframe and Powerplant) certification
- 2+ years experience in new space or aerospace industry
- Stand and walk for entire shift (8+ hours) on various work surfaces
- Climb ladders and work at elevated heights, small spaces, awkward positions, and tight areas as needed
- Perform repetitive motions including bending, twisting, reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling, and stooping
- Use hands with precision to handle, control, and operate tools, instruments, and equipment
- Lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment up to 25 lbs.
- Work in varied environments including production floors, equipment areas, and field locations with exposure to noise, temperature variations, and moving machinery
- Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and varied shifts as operational needs require
$22 – $50 USD
