We are developing Neutron, our upcoming medium-lift, reusable launch vehicle for larger constellation deployment. Space Systems designs and builds satellites, payloads, and components, including spacecraft selected to support NASA missions to the Moon and Mars and components used on the James Webb Space Telescope.

FACILITIES

Rocket Lab s Facilities team is responsible for maintenance, operations, and improvements across our locations, ensuring that the facilities our teams use daily are well maintained and operating as they should.

SENIOR ELECTRICIAN

The Senior Electrician supports the construction and maintenance of Neutron production and test facilities to enable a timely build of Neutron launch vehicles. This will be SSC s first full-time electrical role. This position leads the build, machinery startups, test, operation, and maintenance of Neutron production facilities and Neutron ground system assets as part of a tight-knit team of technicians.

WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO
  • Build and install electrical, instrumentation and controls subsystems on test and production facilities.
  • Contribute to workflow and best practices for facility maintenance.
  • Ensure tasks are completed on time and to quality standards.
  • Provide operations support as needed for launch operations integration.
  • Fit out, assembly and installation of launch pad systems including:
    • Electrical and control panels, instrumentation and supporting systems
    • Routing, design, and installation of cable trays and conduit
    • Troubleshooting electrical issues as needed
  • Collaborate with Rocket Lab manufacturing and integration teams in Auckland, NZ;
    Long Beach, CA; and Wallops Island, VA.
YOU'LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma + GED and Journeyman Qualification or higher.
  • 8+ years' experience in industrial electrical systems and instrumentation.
  • Proven ability to read, understand and follow detailed schematics, drawings and instructions.
  • Experience with instrumentation installation, commissioning and troubleshooting.
  • Practical hands-on wiring and troubleshooting of control systems, including PLCs.
THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE
  • Experience with basic maintenance and repair of generators and UPS systems.
  • Understanding of fluid systems (pneumatic, hydraulic).
  • Experience with in aerospace production, test or launch environment.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be able to walk and stand for long periods.
  • Must be comfortable working in a production environment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted.
  • Must be able to wear appropriate PPE.
  • Must be comfortable climbing ladders, grasping, standing, lifting, bending, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, carrying, crawling, and maneuvering in tight spaces.
  • Must be willing to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed.

Level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge, education, and experience.
