Office Support Specialist I (260004Z2)
The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) offers an opportunity for a highly motivated individual to serve as an Office Support Specialist I at the Southeast Residential Services located at the Regional Office in Middleboro, MA. This role supports the Executive Director in overseeing more than 200 individuals across 50 homes and two support employment sites.
Job Responsibilities- Assist in developing, revising, and overseeing agency policies and procedures manuals.
- Prepare reports and compile data using computer software and databases.
- Answer phones, draft and analyze correspondence, respond to inquiries, file documents, manage data, fax, copy and scan documents.
- Schedule and attend regular management team meetings; maintain minutes and records.
- Operate standard office machines and equipment and ensure ongoing functionality.
- Monitor assigned agency projects and tasks.
- Provide supervisory support to two office staff.
- Monitor and maintain office supplies and inventory.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook, Excel, Access, and Word.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently or as part of a team.
- Adherence to standard filing procedures and accurate record‑keeping.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
- Knowledge of clerical office practices and procedures.
- Instrumental in operating general office machines and equipment.
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
- Must possess a current and valid Class D Motor Vehicle Operator’s License.
- Full‑time – 37.5 hours per week.
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
- Days off:
Saturday and Sunday.

SalaryYearly salary range: $57,865.34 – $81,582.28.
This is a Civil Service position; if no Civil Service list exists for this title, employees appointed must take and pass the next Civil Service examination when administered.
