The company specializes in pumps, controls, and water/wastewater treatment systems and partners closely with consulting engineers, contractors, public works departments, and manufacturers to deliver reliable, compliant, and efficient infrastructure solutions.

The Application Engineer / Project Coordinator at Aqua Solutions serves as a technical liaison and coordination support role between the company’s engineered equipment offerings such as pumps, controls, and water/wastewater treatment systems and municipal clients including consulting engineers, contractors, and public works departments. This position focuses on technical application support, proposal coordination, and project execution assistance, working closely with sales teams, application engineers, manufacturer partners, and internal stakeholders to support the successful delivery of engineered systems that meet municipal specifications and regulatory standards.

The role supports project flow, documentation, and communication across the project lifecycle and contributes to proposal development and business growth initiatives, with potential for future advancement into senior engineering or technical sales roles.

Responsibilities
  • Technical & Engineering Application
    • Apply engineering fundamentals to support the analysis, sizing, and selection of pumps, controls, and water/wastewater treatment systems.
    • Interpret mechanical, electrical, and process drawings, specifications, and manufacturer documentation.
    • Develop and review technical content including equipment schedules, cut sheets, submittals, and O&M manuals.
    • Support troubleshooting, commissioning, and startup activities in collaboration with manufacturers and field teams.
  • Project Coordination & Execution
    • Coordinate technical deliverables and project activities across multiple concurrent projects.
    • Track milestones, submittals, equipment lead times, and documentation requirements.
    • Coordinate information flow between internal teams, manufacturers, contractors, and consulting engineers.
    • Identify risks, discrepancies, or delays and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Technical Communication & Stakeholder Collaboration
    • Serve as a technical point of contact for consulting engineers, contractors, and manufacturer representatives.
    • Respond to technical inquiries with clarity and accuracy.
    • Translate technical concepts into practical guidance for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Support cross-functional collaboration with sales, engineering, and operations teams.
  • Systems, Documentation & Data Integrity
    • Maintain accurate and consistent technical, pricing, and project data across proposals, submittals, and CRM systems.
    • Verify technical accuracy of purchase orders, equipment configurations, and delivery documentation.
    • Maintain organized, auditable project files in accordance with internal standards and customer requirements.
    • Support data integrity and consistency across engineering and project workflows.
  • Quality, Compliance & Continuous Development
    • Ensure technical deliverables align with municipal specifications, regulatory standards, and manufacturer requirements.
    • Identify non-conformances or compliance risks and support resolution efforts.
    • Stay current on applicable codes, standards, and emerging technologies.
    • Apply ongoing learning to improve technical accuracy, coordination effectiveness, and professional growth.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering (or related field).
  • 3-5+ years of experience with pumps, fluid handling systems, and municipal water/wastewater treatment equipment.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings and engineering specifications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to collaborate effectively across teams and with clients.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, CAD, and CRM systems; familiarity with Adobe and AI-based tools preferred.
