Respiratory Therapist, Per Diem
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Respiratory Therapist at Atlas Healthcare's skilled nursing facilities in Southern MA. As a Per Diem Respiratory Therapist, you will provide high-quality respiratory care services to our residents, working closely with a collaborative team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:- Performs cardiopulmonary evaluations and diagnostic testing to assist in the assessment of respiratory conditions and administers respiratory therapies in accordance with physician orders and the resident's plan of care.
- Selects, assembles, and validates that equipment is appropriate and functions properly for respiratory treatment.
- Provides respiratory care and treatment to residents with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary conditions in accordance with physician orders, the resident's plan of care, applicable standards of practice, and Facility policy.
- Monitors residents' responses to respiratory treatments and therapies and reports significant findings or changes in condition in accordance with Facility policy.
- Teaches residents/patients and their families the proper use and maintenance of respiratory equipment.
- Collects blood specimens and performs/analyzes blood gas testing, as permitted by Massachusetts law, Facility policy, physician order, and demonstrated competency.
- Completes required forms/documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures and state and federal mandates.
- Current Massachusetts Respiratory Therapist license in good standing required.
- Graduate of an accredited respiratory care education program required. Associate or bachelor's degree in respiratory care or related field preferred.
- One (1) year of clinical experience preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend English; ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to work hours as scheduled based on the requirements of the position assignment.
- Competitive hourly rate: $45-$48

- May be exposed to blood or other body fluids, fumes, or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the day, proper body mechanics required - bending, stooping, turning, stretching, and reaching above the shoulders are involved.
