JOB MISSION:
To promote academic success and provide optimal nursing care to the entire school community.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs school nursing services under the supervision of the School Nurse Leader consistent with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health guidelines in addition to the local school district policy.
- Provides assessment and medical care for students and staff in the case of injury or illness as needed.
- Maintains appropriate documentation including electronic school health records, daily logs, medication administration, accident/incident report, and special needs encounters.
- Integrates health education in daily practice.
- Identifies the needs of students and staff and teaches health promotion and disease prevention as needed. Provides health education and counseling on an individual basis as needed to students, staff, and parents.
- Demonstrates and applies current nursing knowledge in school practice.
- Participates in ongoing professional development to maintain Massachusetts Registered Nurse License.

Job Requirements- Licensed RN in Massachusetts
- Minimum of two years’ experience in pediatric or community health care
- Current Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation and First Aid certification
- Positive communication skills
- At least 2 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
- Bachelor degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required
