Laboratory Technician I, Eurofins Environment Testing Northeast, Middleborough, MA

• Compensation: USD 19 - USD 20 - hourly

As the Laboratory Technician I, you will perform basic sample and standard preparations, simple analyses, and/or sample custodial duties.

This position is full time Mon‑Friday 11:00am‑8:00pm. The average work week is 40‑45 hours depending on business needs. Compensation $19‑20/hour (DOE).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Follow laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs) in the receipt and handling of sample, preparation of samples, solutions and/or reagents, and bottle preparation.
• Perform simple analyses or instrument utilization to provide data that will not be directly reported to a client.
• Perform sample custodial duties including sample inventory upon receipt, sample storage, and sample disposal.
• After proper training, be accountable for accurate documentation in accordance with ESS Laboratory policy and SOPs.
• Assist chemists and other technicians as needed.
• Participate in the management of hazardous waste by ensuring hazardous waste is properly stored and disposed of.
• Be responsible for proper disposal of samples, dig estates, extracts and reagents into satellite containers.
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
• Meet all quality criteria as specified in the QA manual.
• Work and communicate with personnel of own and other departments.
• Be continually aware of and meet holding time/commitments required by external and internal clients.
• Perform other duties as needed or assigned, including, but not limited to, clerical duties to support the team.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in a science related field is preferred.
• Exceptional attentiveness to detail, with ability to learn and understand technical terms.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and work nights and weekends when needed.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Basic laboratory experience.
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
• Final candidates must pass a pre‑employment background and drug screen requirements.
• Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Lifting up to 40lbs.

• Computer input and typing, answering phones.
• Acuity, near – clarity of vision at 20 feet or more.
• Standing, stooping, walking, bending, reaching, pulling and pushing.
• Use of chemicals.
